Languages

Cape Town Opera wants to give everyone the opportunity to experience the wonderful world of Opera. That is why our performances provide surtitles in not just English but in isiXhosa as well. We are proud that all aspects of our productions reflect the diversity of our community.

Our inclusiveness also extends to audience members who are Deaf or hearing-impaired. Thanks to a partnership with Jazz Hands, a sign language interpreter is there to translate the feel of the music as well as to describe the context of the scenes at selected performances.

Wheelchair Access

Cape Town Opera is readily available to those who use wheelchairs. There is dedicated parking for wheelchair users, as well as multiple lifts to all floors of the building and ramps that lead to the theaters.

When booking your tickets, the seat maps will show you which seats are designed to accommodate wheelchairs. If you need further assistance with your booking, please feel free to contact us directly at Artscape Box Office: 021 4109821.

If you, a family member, or friend needs to borrow a wheelchair for use during the performance, the Artscape Theatre Centre has a few to spare.  Just contact Artscape directly to reserve your wheelchair so they can have it ready for you when you arrive.
