Cape Town Opera’s 2026 season brings five major productions to the stage, celebrating the power of storytelling across opera

and musical theatre.

Experience the passion of Bizet’s Carmen, the romance of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, and the vivid, folk-inspired world of Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen, and musical theatre lovers can look forward to Sondheim’s elegant A Little Night Music. In 2026, Cape Town Opera also takes its acclaimed production of Porgy and Bess on tour in Europe, continuing the company’s strong international presence and sharing South African excellence on the world stage.
