AUDITION NOTICE

Cape Town Opera invites experienced singers in all voice types – Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, Tenor, Baritone, and Bass – to audition for the 2026 Cape Town Opera Chorus as well as ad hoc roles in our staged productions, concerts, and international tours.

AUDITION DETAILS
First Round: Video submissions
Second Round: In-person auditions (if required for permanent positions)
Deadline: 18 August 2025

Feedback will be given by 12 September 2025.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Submit videos of two contrasting arias from the standard operatic repertoire — preferably with accompaniment.

Videos must be in landscape orientation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Ad hoc chorus work is production-specific and not every production requires additional singers.
• Please note: Cape Town Opera is based in Cape Town and cannot provide flights or accommodation for productions or auditions.
• All travel and accommodation expenses for the in-person round are the responsibility of the candidate.
• Auditions are by appointment only — no walk-ins will be accommodated.
• All personal information will be kept strictly confidential for audition and administrative purposes only.
• The decision of the audition panel is final.
