2026 Cape Town Opera Vocal Ensemble

AUDITION NOTICE 

Cape Town Opera invites experienced mezzo-soprano and baritone singers – to audition for permanent positions in the 2026 Cape Town Opera Vocal Ensemble.

AUDITION DETAILS 

First Round: Video submissions
Second Round: In-person auditions by invitation
Deadline: 18 September 2026
Feedback will be given by 5 October 2026

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS 

Submit recently recorded videos of two contrasting arias from the standard operatic repertoire — preferably with accompaniment. 
Videos must be in landscape orientation. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Please note: Cape Town Opera is based in Cape Town and cannot provide flights or accommodation for auditions. 
  • All travel and accommodation expenses for the in-person round are the responsibility of the candidate. 
  • Auditions are by invitation only — no walk-ins will be accommodated. 
  • All personal information will be kept strictly confidential for audition and administrative purposes only. 
  • The decision of the audition panel is final.
