Having taken a bow on-stage as a policeman in a production of Porgy and Bess, officiated three weddings, and even delivered a baby, Roy has undeniably been living life to the fullest. It’s opera, however, that still thrills him. Introduced to the genre at the age of 13, he completed his studies at the Wits School of Dramatic Art and now fulfils an often-underestimated role of the utmost importance: the producer for the Cape Town Opera. Something of a technophobe, Roy finds that the great pleasures in life are the simple ones: cooking, swimming, and reading.
