Luvo was first introduced to opera during high school, then joined the Cape Town Opera chorus for the first time in a production of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro. Still counting Mozart among his favourite composers, he also loves the work of Puccini, Handel and Mendelssohn. Describing himself as a shy person who’s prone to panic, Luvo has not allowed nerves to stand in the way of a career that includes productions of Porgy and Bess in Spain and The Magic Flute in Italy. Among his other, quieter talents are knitting, woodwork, and even a skill for doing hair.
