ANÉ PRETORIUS

In her still-young career, Ané Pretorius has experienced a wealth of memorable moments with Cape Town Opera, from the opening night of her first prominent role – that of Flora in La traviata – performing for opera high tea at Rand Club, the part of Romeo in CTO’s Capuleti e i Montecchi and the flamboyant New Year’s celebration that is the Strauss Concert in Berlin. In addition to operatic achievements such as her selection to take part in the prestigious Joyce DiDonato Master Class at Carnegie Hall, Ané also holds a BMus, Master’s degree, and postgraduate diploma. While time spent in lockdown has slowed some down, Ané used the time to deepen and diversify her musical talents, exploring new work, practicing the piano, and keeping her skills polished with operatic exercises.
