Age:                 18+

Gender:          Any

Height:            Max 1.6m

Suitable candidates will be young adults of slight build and not tall in stature, that could pass for 12-16 years of age.  Candidates will not be expected to sing.

In Act 2 The “children” will slowly emerge from piles of discarded mannequins, wearing full face-masks and body paint in Roger Ballen’s style (we would like some to be half-naked from the waist up if possible).

In Act 3 we will see masked heads, arms and hands emerge from the walls of the witches house, offering sweets to the children. At the end of the scene these “children” will emerge from the walls and take off their masks, and ‘silently’ speak.

At the audition, candidates will be asked to demonstrate physical control and the ability to stand up from a lying position in slow-motion and slowly walk forward. We will also look at expressivity of hand/arm/neck movement.

Some training or background in mime/physical theatre will be useful, but not essential.
