Artistic Administrator Internship
Internship Overview
The Artistic Administrator intern will be part of Cape Town Opera’s Artistic team and report to the Artistic Director. This role serves as the primary point of communication between the Artistic Department and the wider organisation. The intern will gain hands-on experience providing producing and administrative support to both the Artistic and Production departments, contributing meaningfully to the planning and execution of performances and projects.

Applicant Responsibilities:
- Assist with production-related and artistic research
- Support the scheduling of rehearsals, productions and venue bookings
- Provide administrative support to the Artistic Department
- Ensure clear and timely communication within the Artistic team and across departments
- Support the Artistic Director in the planning and coordination of artistic projects
This opportunity is open to candidates that:
- Have a minimum qualification of matric
- Must be a South African citizen
- Between 18 and 34 years of age
- Have never held a full-time position before and preferably have not participated on a learnership or internship before
- Live within 50 kms from the Artscape Theatre Centre
- Not currently in full time studies and able to attend this internship full time
- Willing to be subjected to a credit and criminal check or any industry specific checks required for your job role

The position is a one-year contract commencing 01 July 2025 and the end date is 30 June 2026. We are based at the Cape Town Opera offices at the Artscape building in Cape Town.
